Dinos reign again in this fourth entry of the Jurassic Park series to be scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor's interest, which backfires horribly

Comment For Jurassic World Online
Name :
Leonard Klady / Alias : Variety
The dinosaur creations are even better than those in the first film -- credible, breathtaking and frightening. As for the rest, every department pales by comparison.
Name :
Peter Travers / Alias : Rolling Stone
You won't believe your eyes.
Name :
John Leonard / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
Bad news is the only news in Jurassic Park III.
Name :
Kyle Smith / Alias : New York Post
Motorcycle, Chris Pratt, sprinting dinosaurs: If you require more than that out of a movie, you're being unreasonable.
Name :
Roger Ebert / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
Where is the awe? Where is the sense that if dinosaurs really walked the earth, a film about them would be more than a monster movie? Where are the ooohs and ahhhs?
Name :
Roger Ebert / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
You want great dinosaurs, you got great dinosaurs.
Name :
Joe Morgenstern / Alias : Wall Street Journal
Nothing said here will have the slightest bearing on its performance at the box office. All the same, something should be said about the film's cheesiness - it doesn't even look good, though it sounds grand - and the shoddiness of its workmanship.
Name :
Moira MacDonald / Alias : Seattle Times
Tune out the screenplay, enjoy the silly chase scenes and swooping camera work, and wonder if this franchise has finally reached its end.
Name :
Christy Lemire / Alias : ChristyLemire.com
So basically, Jurassic World is a big-budget indictment of corporate greed, jammed with product placement for Samsung and Mercedes-Benz and Beats by Dre and Coca-Cola.
Name :
Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
There isn't anything original here, but it's all executed with energy and skill. As always, the underlying message is that nature, like Hollywood formulas, should not be tampered with.
Name :
James Berardinelli / Alias : ReelViews
This is the best of the Jurassic Park sequels and does a better job than episodes #2 and #3 in recreating the "feel" of the original.
Name :
Desson Thomson / Alias : Washington Post
This is Jaws with huge, scaly ridges. At times, it's more frightening.
Name :
Jacob Hall / Alias : New York Daily News
For much of its running time, "Jurassic World" plays like a great theme park ride. In an age of blockbusters that lumber like herbivores, it's refreshing to see a movie as lean and mean as a velociraptor.
Name :
Andrew O'Hehir / Alias : Salon.com
I'm not sure what specific qualities "Jurassic World" could be said to possess, beyond a vague sense of its own importance that . comes across in the finished product as preening self-congratulation.
Name :
Rafer Guzman / Alias : Newsday
"Jurassic Park" remains an absolute thrill from a Spielberg in top form: Funny, scary, fast-moving and full of just-right details.
Name :
Alan Scherstuhl / Alias : Village Voice
That T. rex is worth the wait, but the wait itself is even more memorable.
Name :
Desson Thomson / Alias : Washington Post
Militaristic bounty hunters.intend to capture these animals, ship them to San Diego and make a profitable spectacle out of them.
Name :
Alonso Duralde / Alias : TheWrap
If Jurassic Park was a bright, clean, gleaming state-of-the-art attraction, this latest iteration feels shabby and unexciting, with a definite feeling that the carnies are dealing meth behind the haunted house.
Name :
Derek Elley / Alias : Variety
An all-action, helter-skelter, don't-forget-to-buy-the-computer-game ride that makes the two previous installments look like models of classic filmmaking.
Name :
Jeff Shannon / Alias : Seattle Times
Jurassic Park is an astonishing success in one sense and one sense only: It is the monster of all monster movies, guaranteed to challenge weak bladders, flutter heartbeats and win automatic Oscars for the [tech crew].
Name :
David Edelstein / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
At its best, it's good enough to take your mind off its worst, which is saying a lot.
Name :
Dana Stevens / Alias : Slate
You don't go to the fourth Jurassic Park movie for up-to-date gender politics. You go for the crunchy dino-on-human action, and Jurassic World provides plenty of that.
Name :
Todd McCarthy / Alias : Variety
May be one-dimensional and even clunky in story and characterization, but definitely delivers where it counts, in excitement, suspense and the stupendous realization of giant reptiles.
Name :
Tom Long / Alias : Detroit News
"Jurrassic World" still delivers big, dumb cheap summer thrills. But extinction may be the kindest thing that can happen to this franchise.
Name :
Duane Byrge / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
The well-selected cast is winningly sympathetic and entertainingly idiosyncratic.
Name :
Owen Gleiberman / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
Spielberg's peerless twin gift has always been for making the fantastic seem real (Close Encounters, E.T., the Indiana Jones trilogy) and the real fantastic (Jaws).
Name :
Christopher Orr / Alias : The Atlantic
If you limit your expectations for Jurassic World to "more teeth," it will deliver on that promise. If you dare to hope for anything more-relatable characters, narrative coherence-you'll only set yourself up for disappointment.
Name :
Nell Minow / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
Spielberg has gone on to weightier and more prestigious projects, but this thrill ride is one of his best and a masterpiece of the genre.
Name :
Peter Howell / Alias : Toronto Star
This movie doesn't just stand the test of time, it transcends it.
Name :
Richard Corliss / Alias : TIME Magazine
The 3-D process adds not just dimension but depth - a technological extension of cinematographer Gregg Toland's deep-focus innovations in The Grapes of Wrath and Citizen Kane. The change in perspective creates greater intensity.
Name :
Stephen Whitty / Alias : Newark Star-Ledger
Along with the repurposed plot comes a sort of retro, kind of comforting '80s feel, with - until a final, hyper-edited battle sequence - a seeming willingness to allow the scenes some room to breathe.
Name :
Ty Burr / Alias : Boston Globe
"Jurassic World" is a roadworthy retread, a summer blockbuster that has more than its share of absurdities and bald patches but gets by anyway because dinosaurs.
Name :
Richard Roeper / Alias : Chicago Sun-Times
"Jurassic World" is pure, dumb, wall-to-wall fun. When they hand you your 3-D glasses, you can check your brain at the door and pick it up on your way out.
Name :
Peter Howell / Alias : Toronto Star
Jurassic World . hits all the expected beats of heroism, action and dinosaur dining. The tourists are delicious, and there are so many more to snack on this time!
Name :
Michael O'Sullivan / Alias : Washington Post
The enthralling man-vs.-nature parable based on the late Michael Crichton's best-selling novel hasn't aged one bit.
Name :
Michael Phillips / Alias : Chicago Tribune
Bailed out by a few good jolts, "Jurassic World" gets by, barely, as a marauding-dinosaurs narrative designed for a more jaded audience than the one "Jurassic Park" conquered back in 1993.
Name :
Dave Kehr / Alias : Chicago Tribune
The characters aren't much more well-defined than the anonymous victims of a teen horror movie. The dinosaur effects, however, are absolutely stunning, and sometimes so natural that one even forgets to be impressed.
Name :
Kenneth Turan / Alias : Los Angeles Times
Pratt proved in "Guardians" that he could handle hunky leading man roles, and his combination of physicality, charisma and attitude prove hard to resist one more time.
Name :
Peter Travers / Alias : Rolling Stone
It's not the cynical, cash-in cheesefest you feared. OK, Jurassic World is a little of that. But this state-of-the-art dino epic is also a blast of rumbling, roaring, "did you effing see that!" fun.
Name :
Joshua Rothkopf / Alias : Time Out
Another theme park, another bunch of knuckleheaded scientists cloned from the same strand of foresight-impaired DNA. Jurassic World has absolutely no reason for being (except for the obvious one), but at least it chomps your time painlessly.
Name :
Kevin Courrier / Alias : Globe and Mail
If there's one thing certain in this new instalment of Jurassic Park, it's that the critters are a whole lot smarter, faster and interesting than the Homo sapiens dropping in on them.
Name :
Manohla Dargis / Alias : New York Times
There's more flab than muscle packed on this galumphing franchise reboot, which, as it lumbers from scene to scene, reminds you of what a great action god Steven Spielberg is. Too bad he didn't take the reins on this.
Name :
Peter Rainer / Alias : Christian Science Monitor
In terms of its thrills and graphic design, it still looks like a low-to-mid-range Spielberg effort.
Name :
Scott Foundas / Alias : Variety
It's fun enough while it lasts, but somehow, finally, all too much and not enough.
Name :
Mike Clark / Alias : USA Today
Offers less screen rapture for your raptor than its predecessor did, unless your sole priority is dino-mighty effects.
Name :
Chris Vognar / Alias : Dallas Morning News
A movie like Jurassic World must pass one basic test: Stay diverting, if not spectacularly entertaining, even through the most ridiculous scenarios. Mission accomplished.
Name :
Chris Klimek / Alias : NPR
I enjoyed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to exactly the same degree I enjoyed Jurassic World.
Name :
Tom Russo / Alias : Boston Globe
I'm a fan of this movie. It is thrilling, and the 3-D treatment is a nice enhancement.
Name :
Brian Truitt / Alias : USA Today
World is a monster step up from the two disappointing previous sequels, but is sorely missing the heart and inherent wonder of the classic first film.
Name :
Jonathan Rosenbaum / Alias : Chicago Reader
There's more soul to be found in any Kong close-up than in this film's overplayed reactions.
Name :
A.A. Dowd / Alias : AV Club
Jurassic World, a goofy and fitfully entertaining summer movie, understands and even winks at its place in the pecking order of blockbuster sequels.
Name :
Jay Boyar / Alias : Orlando Sentinel
This is as close as any of us is likely to get to witnessing life in prehistoric times.
Name :
Rene Rodriguez / Alias : Miami Herald
There's something deeply wrong with a film that expects you to shed tears over digitally created prehistoric creatures and rubber brontosaurus heads instead of rooting for, you know, people.
Name :
Geoff Andrew / Alias : Time Out
Spielberg is still supreme as an action director, and when the T Rex makes beefburger of the jeep, or the vicious 'Raptors stalk their human prey, the film inspires wonder and awe.
Name :
Bill Stamets / Alias : Chicago Reader
Spielberg's dinos, manipulated by a small army of puppeteers, are watchable enough. But these artificial critters have little reason to be resurrected in our era, let alone on 3,300 screens over Memorial Day weekend.
Name :
Chris Nashawaty / Alias : Entertainment Weekly
While the new Jurassic World pales next to the awe-inspiring spectacle of the original, it's easily the franchise's most thrilling sequel yet.
Name :
Lisa Kennedy / Alias : Denver Post
Jurassic World is ersatz Spielberg. It's a knock-off that, even with the brand tag of the filmmaking titan as executive producer, makes the credit feel faux.
Name :
Rita Kempley / Alias : Washington Post
Jurassic Park does for live-action critters what Who Framed Roger Rabbit did for toons. In that sense, it's a cinematic landmark, but in terms of plot and character, it's about as well developed as Godzilla.
Name :
Geoff Andrew / Alias : Time Out
True, the film offers little new, but it's still stirring family entertainment.
Name :
Wesley Morris / Alias : Grantland
Trevorrow is having fun taking as little of this as seriously as he needs to.
Name :
Kenneth Turan / Alias : Los Angeles Times
Do the dinosaurs work? Indeed they do. Does anything else? Not really.
Name :
Stephanie Zacharek / Alias : Village Voice
The picture is sleek and impressive, although, as with its predecessors, how much you enjoy it will depend on your tolerance for watching dinosaurs chomp down on terrified humans.
Name :
Ann Hornaday / Alias : Washington Post
As has been previously observed, every action movie today ends up as "Transformers" and, even when it's cloned creatures fighting, the same is true here (with an antic dash of "Sharknado" tossed in for good measure).
Name :
Liam Lacey / Alias : Globe and Mail
Jurassic World never breaks out of its own confines of homage and imitation. The movie ends up as an awkward, ungainly hybrid: large, but inconsequential.
Name :
Janet Maslin / Alias : New York Times
Mr. Spielberg has great fun with every last growl and rumble signaling the approach of danger.
Name :
Steven Rea / Alias : Philadelphia Inquirer
The earthshaking footfalls of these lizard-kings are palpable and terrifying. Spielberg's crew of dinosaur-effects artists has conjured up a Mesozoic menagerie whose realism outdoes anything in cinema history.
Name :
Colin Covert / Alias : Minneapolis Star Tribune
It may not equal the humor and inventiveness of the original film, but death has never been so much fun.
Name :
Todd McCarthy / Alias : Hollywood Reporter
The old-fashioned Saturday matinee-like pleasures stemming from resourceful derring-do in the face of mighty odds retain an appeal if done reasonably well, which is the case here.
Name :
Kevin Thomas / Alias : Los Angeles Times
Many people will find much to divert them in The Lost World, and not worry whether or not it falls short of Jurassic Park.
Name :
Rick Groen / Alias : Globe and Mail
Special effects demand dino closeups, but the technical miracles seem sadly mundane.
Name :
Joe Williams / Alias : St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Even without world-class smarts or amusing mutations, the next generation of "Jurassic" is an enjoyable ride.
Name :
Sean O'Connell / Alias : Washington Post
"Jurassic Park" was impressive in 1993. Twenty years later, it's flawless.
Name :
Stephen Holden / Alias : New York Times
The Lost World, while terrifically entertaining, is also structurally out of kilter.
Name :
James Berardinelli / Alias : ReelViews
In the end, Jurassic Park succeeds because it's good entertainment.
Name :
Louis B. Parks / Alias : Houston Chronicle
There are many more dinosaurs this time around, taking up much more screen time. But don't expect to be wowed as much as you were by Jurassic Park.
Name :
Bilge Ebiri / Alias : New York Magazine/Vulture
Jurassic Park shows us a director in transition, and the film captures his transformation in its own kind of cinematic amber.
Name :
Terrence Rafferty / Alias : New Yorker
For all the ingenuity of the movie's engineering, Jurassic Park doesn't have the imagination - or the courage - to take us any place we haven't been a thousand times before. It's just a creature feature on amphetamines.
Name :
Jake Coyle / Alias : Associated Press
Jurassic World, the latest incarnation of the franchise, is lacking the deft sense of wonderment, wit and suspense that guided the original.
Name :
Tony Hicks / Alias : San Jose Mercury News
Even with its flaws, Jurassic World works, thanks to director Colin Trevorrow's great sense of pacing and flair for drama that transcends the idea of beasts chasing humans.
Name :
James Berardinelli / Alias : ReelViews
Repetitiveness notwithstanding, The Lost World boasts several edge-of-the-seat moments.
Name :
Bill Goodykoontz / Alias : Arizona Republic
Look, let's not kid ourselves. Every third person on the planet will go to see this movie, and they will find exactly what they seek, nothing more but certainly nothing less. It's that nothing more part that ultimately disappoints.
Name :
Anthony Lane / Alias : New Yorker
There is plenty here to divert, but little to leave you enraptored. Such is the fate of the sequel: Bigger. Louder. Fewer teeth.
Name :
Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
What ultimately makes "Jurassic World" so satisfying is that it doesn't buy into the grandeur of the human spirit, not one bit.
Name :
Mick LaSalle / Alias : San Francisco Chronicle
The Lost World has the vibe of 'obligatory sequel,' just what director Steven Spielberg probably wanted to avoid.
Name :
Cary Darling / Alias : Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com
Yet, for those who remember both the sheer terror and humor of Steven Spielberg's original Jurassic Park, Jurassic World - much like the dinosaurs these scientists create - proves once again that some things are best left alone.
Name :
Geoff Andrew / Alias : Time Out
In short, what you'd expect, and no more.
